Using Optibus’ AI-powered software platform, Transvida Consortium will bring to LATAM’s largest bus system a new level of service quality and efficiency for passengers

The Transvida Consortium, one of the primary operators of SPTrans, the largest public bus system in Latin America, will implement Optibus’ software platform to improve its services and operations using artificial intelligence and optimization algorithms. The move expands the usage of Optibus’ software within the SPTrans network in São Paulo, where Optibus is already used by MobiBrasil to plan and schedule services.

The Transvida Consortium comprises three operations - Ambiental Transportes, Transppass Transporte, and Viação Campo - that transport 18 million passengers each year across the city of São Paulo. Optibus' Planning and Scheduling products will initially be implemented at operator Ambiental Transportes with the goal of improving service quality and efficiency f or passengers.

Using Optibus’ cutting-edge platform backed by artificial intelligence and optimization algorithms, the Transvida Consortium brings to SPTrans’ network the most advanced solution on the market for scheduling and planning public transport. The software enables optimal resource allocation for vehicles and crews, enhances visibility into operational data, including KPIs, service performance, costs, and more, and makes it possible to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement. The Transvida Consortium will be able to make data-driven decisions and determine the best strategies to increase service efficiency and offer a better passenger experience.

For planners and schedulers, working together within the Optibus platform improves collaboration and enables faster, more agile work processes. In addition, because the platform is cloud-native, it does not require any IT hardware and is automatically updated with new improvements. A user-friendly interface makes the platform easy to learn and master for planners and schedulers of all backgrounds.

“One of the ways to achieve success at our operation and in our commitment to passengers is to implement the best practices and technologies within our company. The Optibus platform is a great tool for supporting our complex operations, including those in São Paulo. It will help us to proactively identify potential service and operational issues and alert us so that we can respond quickly and effectively,” said Fabio Leão, Administrative and Financial Director of Transvida consortium.

“It is a great pleasure to kick off this project with the Transvida Consortium. Our work together represents Optibus' ongoing commitment to making state-of-the-art technologies applicable and accessible to the public transportation sector, positively impacting the work of public transportation operators across São Paulo," said André Vieira, Regional Director of Optibus in Brazil.
