Integration Overview: From schedule to socket, fully automated

Optibus’ software is designed to create the best possible charging schedules for electric buses. That includes optimizing when, where, and how long each vehicle needs to charge based on constraints including range, battery state of charge (SoC), charging speed, route timing, and grid limitations. The result is a Charge Plan with all the recharge events that electric buses need to stay on schedule.

Now, with the Optibus - Dhemax smart charging integration, that plan doesn’t stay in the scheduling tool—it becomes operational.

Here’s how it works:

• Step 1: Plan in Optibus: Once a Charge Plan is generated in Optibus and assigned to vehicles and dates, it is automatically pushed to Dhemax through the API.
• Step 2: Execute with Dhemax: Dhemax reads the charge plan and applies advanced smart charging algorithms to ensure scheduled events occur as planned, supporting not only when the vehicle arrives at the depot, but also by providing full visibility into all charging sessions and identifying potential issues before they arise.
• Step 3: Adjust Automatically: If things don’t go according to plan — say a bus is delayed or arrives with less charge than expected — Dhemax can automatically adapt the recharge event, boosting power delivery to correct deviations and keep vehicles aligned with the Charge Plan.

• Step 4: Ensure Battery Health: While this is happening, the integration protects the most valuable component of the EV — the battery — by reducing exposure to high voltage fluctuations during charging, extending battery life and lowering long-term fleet costs.
