Buslines, one of the largest family-owned public transport operators in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, is now working with Optibus, an end-to-end software solution for public transportation management, to improve regional services and grow their business.

In operation for almost eighty years, Buslines is a family-owned business providing passenger, school, and charter services across thirteen operating regions in New South Wales. These services are key to connecting regional and rural communities across the state to work, businesses, entertainment, education, healthcare, and even major local events like the Splendour in the Grass and Tamworth Country music festivals and Bathurst Races.

In addition to providing important regional passenger transport services, Buslines recently acquired Rover Coaches, the oldest family-owned operator in NSW.

With so many communities across NSW relying on Buslines to travel from A to B, the company needs to ensure optimal service quality and passenger satisfaction as their operation expands.

Buslines will use Optibus Planning (pictured) to plan more efficient and accessible routes.

Using Optibus’ Planning, Scheduling, and Rostering products, Buslines is enabling their planners and schedulers to better measure service performance, make data-driven decisions that improve the passenger experience, and increase operational efficiency while reducing costs. Optibus’ end-to-end software will also improve collaboration and communication between Buslines’ operating companies and departments, making it easier to optimize resource usage

“We are very excited to work with Optibus’ software and team to support our ambitious plans to optimize public transport in New South Wales and grow our business,” said David D'Apuzzo, co-CEO of Buslines. “The technology that Optibus brings to the industry is a game-changer for passengers and operators in Australia.”
