The Federal Association of German Bus Operators (Bundesverband Deutscher Omnibusunternehmen – BDO) e.V., the leading association of the German bus industry, has selected Optibus, an artificial intelligence software platform for optimizing public transportation, as the association’s preferred platform for digital transportation planning, vehicle and crew scheduling, and rostering.

BDO represents the interests of private and medium-sized companies from the local passenger transport, tourism, and long-distance transportation sectors. With its approximately 3,000 members, BDO also supports and promotes strategies to increase efficiency.

Optibus is a software platform designed entirely for the cloud to optimize bus operations, from planning to scheduling to rostering. Optibus’ digital tools help optimize bus operations by reducing costs and enabling faster, more efficient operations while increasing ridership and service quality.

“Optibus is a great tool for increasing operational efficiency and performance,” said the BDO.

A wide range of companies, from local family fleets to long-distance operators with thousands of vehicles, have already been able to improve their operations with Optibus. Satisfied customers in Germany include the family-run LVL Jäger GmbH, operator of the city bus routes in the district town of Ludwigsburg, and Bus Verkehr Berlin KG (BVB.net), the largest private bus company in the Berlin-Brandenburg region with over 200 employees and more than 70 coaches and 30 scheduled buses.
